Intro is a search engine with candidate information gathered from the open web, with the purpose of providing useful information for recruiting and jobseeking. We care about your privacy and we want this document to be helpful for you and for us in managing your information in the best way possible for you and our clients.

This Privacy Policy outlines Intro AB’s (“Intro”, “we”, “our”, “us”, “Intro representative” etc) practices with respect to collecting, using and disclosing your information when providing our online services (collectively, the “Services”) and constitutes an integral part of Intro’s Terms of Use (“Terms”, and collectively, the “Agreement”).
Intro operates as a search engine, and therefore the information it retrieves and/or provides is not created directly by Intro, but retrieved from the open web.
Your privacy is important to us. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of:
• Individuals’ business information, such as email address and name (each individual, a “Candidate”), which is collected and obtained in Intro’s Search Engine (“Business Profile(s)”); and
• Our users who download, install or use the Intro browser extension (the “Plugin”), access the Intro’s website (the “Site”), is a registered user of Intro’s Service or a paying Client under the Terms of Services (each, a “User”).
The term “you” shall refer to Users or Candidates, as applicable. By using the Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the Services means an ongoing agreement to this Privacy Policy.
Although most changes are likely to be minor, Intro may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Intro’s sole discretion. Intro encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.

Intro’s search engine collects information on potential candidates from the open web. This information may be shared with our users and business partners. if you want to review what information we might have on you, click this link. If you want us to not share your information at all, simply fill out this form.

INTRO'S SEARCH ENGINE – MORE DETAILED

The Business Profiles we collect from publicly available sources on the open web are made searchable in Intro’s Search Engine for the purpose of employment opportunities. Our algorithms process this information in order to identify the most up-to-date information related to each profile. The purpose of this data processing is to enable a mutually beneficial match between potential employees and employers.
Downloading or using our Plugin or accessing our Site does NOT mean you share information that will be included or available in Intro’s Search Engine. The Search Engine only access information collected from publicly available sources on the open web and information manually enriched by Intro employees.
We may use and share Business Profiles with our Users when they use our Plugin for the purpose to help the employer in providing the candidate with a beneficial job offer.
We may also disclose to our vendors and business partners (or permit their access to) Business Profiles obtained in Intro’s Search Engine for the purpose of ensuring that their current data is up to date, enriching it and allowing our partners to obtain relevant Business Profiles for employment opportunities.
Your information is processed in accordance with this Section on basis of our legitimate interest of providing our Services, as detailed above.

In this case, we will not continue to use or disclose your Business Profile. 3. WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT – IN PLAIN ENGLISH

We collect information on potential candidate that is publically available and relevant for our users and business partners. This may include name, email address, location, profile photo, candidate's user name on online forum and content/posts on online forums. We also collect mostly information on users of our plugin and website that is typically not personally identifiable, unless the user has voluntarily made it identifiable.

WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT – MORE DETAILED

We collect two main categories of information. The first category (i.e. “Business Profiles”) is what is available in Intro’s Search Engine and shared with our Users and business partners. The second category (i.e. “User’s Data”) is collected to allow Users to use our Plugin, Website and other related services and products.

1. Business Profiles

We collect Business Profiles that are related to individuals from different public sources in order to enhance, optimize and enrich Intro’s Search Engine and keep it current and up to date as possible. We collect information about Candidates from publicly available sources, such as via the Internet and social networks, including through public or licensed APIs. For example, we use open web services and APIs to complete and update the information we have about Candidates and enrich it (e.g. by adding links to Candidates’ verified social network profiles), in order to allow our Users and business partners to find relevant Business Profiles.
Intro always strives to limit the amount of personal data that we process on an individual to the absolute minimum needed to provide the Service, ie facilitate matching between employers and employees. The personal data we obtain and gather in Business Profiles may never include more than:
• Name
• Email address
• Location
• Profile photo on a publically accessible online source
• Candidate's user name on online forums
• Content/posts on the Internet

2. User’s Data

Intro collects both personally-identifying and non-personally-identifying information of Users. The personally-identifying information only applies to registered Users, Users of Intro’s plugin and paying Users under Intro’s Terms of Service. For all other categories Users (eg non-registered visitors to the Site), we only collect non-personally-identifying information.

3. Gathering of Non-Personally-Identifying Information

Intro collects non-personally-identifying information of Users of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Intro's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Intro's visitors use its website and to better provide related content to its visitors. From time to time, Intro may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website. Intro also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users. Intro only discloses logged in user IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.

4. Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain Users choose to interact with Intro in ways that require Intro to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Intro gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up for a account at intro.io to provide a name and email address. Those who engage in transactions with Intro - by purchasing access to Intro’s paid services for example - are asked to provide additional information, including necessary personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Intro collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with Intro. The purpose of collecting the Personally-Identifying Information is to give those Users a better experience of the product, better security and control, and to be able to better improve the product based on User feedbac (ie bug tracking, error reports etc). Intro does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described in this agreement. Users can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

5. Aggregated Statistics

Intro may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. Intro may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Intro does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

6. Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

Intro discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Intro’s behalf or to provide services available at Intro’s websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Intro’s websites you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Intro will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, Intro discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when Intro believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Intro, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of an Intro website and have supplied your email address, Intro may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what's going on with Intro and our products. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Intro takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

7. Retention

Personal Information is retained by Intro so that you can be identified only for as long as it is necessary for Intro’s processing activities. Intro keeps the same retention policy for all Users and Candidate, which will follow the reasonable mandatory retention period, which is 7 years as from the Processing Date. Candidates and Users can at any time ask for their Personal Information to be removed by using this form, in which case it will be removed as soon as possible. The exception to this rule is for Clients with an account with Intro, in which case we will keep information on their work email for marketing purposes for one (1) year after request of removal. Please note that we may retain the information we collect for as long as needed to provide the Services and to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

4. COOKIES – IN PLAIN ENGLISH

We use cookies, a small data file that is sent to your device when you first visit a website, to make our services better. You can set your browser to opt-out from letting Intro place cookies on your computer.

COOKIES – MORE DETAILED

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Intro uses cookies to help Intro identify and track visitors, their usage of Intro’s website, and their website access preferences. Intro visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using Intro’s websites, with the drawback that certain features of Intro’s websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.
Third-party content appearing on any of our websites may be delivered to users by partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the partner to recognize your computer each time you interact with the content to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by Intro and does not cover the use of cookies by any partners.

5. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION – IN PLAIN ENGLISH

You have the right to know about how we use potential information about you, and the right to have all that information erased. We cannot guarantee that no one access your information unauthorized. Your information may be transferred to organizations outside the EU. Lastly, Intro is not for children.

Intro respects your privacy rights. You may contact us at any time and we do our best to respect your choices and requests regarding your Personal Information. The list below is include the rights you have regarding your Personal Information.

Right of Access

You may request to access your Personal Information and obtain a copy of Personal Information which is being processed by Intro. If you request to know what Personal Information is being processed by us, we will provide you with the following information free of charge: purposes of processing; categories of Personal Information processed; recipient(s) of Personal Information; length of time during which the Personal Information will be stored. Such requests will be made by filing in your relevant details on this link.

Right of Rectification

You may request to change, update or complete any missing data that we process about you, by contacting support@intro.io with your relevant details. Please note that we may rectify, replenish or remove incomplete or inaccurate information, at any time and at our own discretion.

Right of Erasure

You may at any time withdraw your consent to our processing of your Personal Information. In this case, if there is no overriding legitimate interest for continuing the processing of your Personal Information (e.g. to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, etc.) and the Personal Information is no longer necessary in relation to the purpose for which it was originally collected, we will erase your data. Such withdrawal of consent will be made by contacting us at support@intro.io with your relevant details. After processed by Intro, your request will result in your information is erased from Intro’s access and the Users that have accessed your information will be informed about the information being erased.
Please observe: the information that Intro collects on Candidates is information already publically available on the Internet. Erasing information from Intro’s access does not mean the publically available information is erased. Intro has no control over the original information, nor power to adjust or erase it.

Unauthorized access

We employ industry standard procedures to make sure your information is safe and to prevent unauthorized use of any such information. However, we cannot be responsible for the acts of those who gain unauthorized access or abuse our Services and cannot make any warrants that we will be able to fully prevent such access.

Transfer of Personal Information outside the EU

Since we operate globally, it may be necessary to transfer your Personal Information to countries outside the European Union. By using our services you consent to the possible transfer of your Personal Information to countries outside the European Union.

Minors control

We take the sharing of information minors very seriously. The products and services of Intro are not targeted to or intended for children under the age of 18. If you are under 18 years old, you may not submit information about yourself to Intro. Intro reserves the right to modify or remove any information on the Site or Services at its own discretion.
In the event that we become aware that a User or Candidate is under the age of 13, we will discard their information. If you discover any trace of data related to profiles under the age of 18, or have any reason to believe that a minor has shared any information with us, we strongly encourage you to report this immediately to support@intro.io, after which we will immediately remove such data. There is no interest what so ever for Intro to collect data related to children.

We sometimes use users’ information for marketing, but users can at any time ask us to stop.

MARKETING – MORE DETAILED

We may use Users’ Personal Information, such as names and email addresses, ourselves or by using our third-party subcontractors for the purpose of providing our Users with promotional materials and newsletters concerning our Services, which we believe may interest them. Users may request to unsubscribe and discontinue receiving marketing offers by sending us a blank message with the word “remove” to support@intro.io.

If Intro is transferred, so is your personal information.
